Edward graduated with the Class of June 1948. He was active in Hi-Haven, Varsity baseball, and summer American Legion baseball playing for the Fire-Police team.



Edward made the metro all-start team after the 1947 American Legion State Tournament.

Edward’s path to the army is unknown.
Edward was killed in action on the 3rd day of the 5 day Battle of Hoengsong, Korea. The battle was a major defeat of the United Nations forces with a significant loss of men and material. The United States suffered over 1,200 wounded and 729 killed in the battle.
Edward originally reported as missing in action to his family.

It was over 2 years before his status was changed to killed in action.


Edward is buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
