Lauren enlisted in the Navy on 9Sep1942, and earned his wings on 14Nov1943.
Lauren was killed in a plane crash while piloting a Grumman F6F-3 fighter plane on a routine night familiarization flight near Vero Beach, FL.
Lauren is buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
