Edison High School will be hosting a plaque dedication/veteran appreciation ceremony on Veterans Day, November 11, 2025.
Two new plaques will be dedicated that day. One in honor of the 7 Edison alumni who died during the Korean War, and one in honor of 14 alumni who died during the Vietnam War. Additionally, all veterans in attendance will be recognized for their service.
All veterans, alumni, and community members are invited to attend.

The 14th Edison Hero from Vietnam has been identified.
John Egeland graduated with the Class of 1969. He was killed in a helicopter crash in Germany in 1971. Thank you to a fellow 1969 graduate for making sure John is included on the list.
Any person associated with Edison High School who served in the military, and died while on active duty, between 28Feb1961 and 7May1975 will be included on the list of Edison Heroes from Vietnam. The list can be found here:
Remember George Minarik today. George was a Navy Corpsman serving with a Marine unit in Vietnam. George died of injuries sustained in a car accident while recuperating from wounds suffered in Vietnam. Learn more about George here.
