Paul graduated with the Class of June 1928. He was very active in school.


Sometime after graduating, Paul relocated to Los Angeles, California.

Military Service

Branch: United States Navy
Paul enlisted in the Navy on 23Feb1944. He took basic training at San Diego, CA.

After basic training he was promoted to Seaman 2nd Class and transferred to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii where he attended several months of additional training.



On 24Sep1944 he was assigned to ComServPac at Pearl Harbor. ComServPac (Commander, Service Force, Pacific Fleet) was responsible for sustaining the immense naval operations against Japan. They managed tankers, gasoline tankers, repair ships, ammunition ships, destroyer tenders, and submarine tenders. They enabled “mobile support” where service ships met combat vessels in forward areas in the Pacific theater.

Just 4 days later, on September 28, Paul died by suicide. On September 30 he was buried at the Halawa Naval Cemetery.

In 1949 his remains were disinterred and returned to California for reburial.

He is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
